Why Is Ice Melting So Quickly in my RTIC Cooler SOLVED?

How come ice melts so quickly in my refrigerator?
When you put food into the fridge, the temperature inside drops causing the water molecules to freeze.
As the temperature continues to drop, the water molecules become smaller until they reach 0 degrees Celsius 32°F.
At this point, the water molecules stop moving around and form crystals.
Solution I found out that there was a problem with the thermostat.
Once I replaced the thermostat, the ice melted much faster.

Is This A Manufacturer Default?

Yes, this is a manufacturer default setting. It’s not something you did wrong. It’s how the cooler works. If you’re using ice cubes, you’ll notice that the cubes melt very quickly. That’s because the ice cube tray is filled with water. As soon as the ice melts, the water evaporates into the air. This is why you see the water dripping from the top of the cooler.

How To Check For A RTIC Insulation Product Fault

1. Open the door of the refrigerator. 2. Remove the insulation product from the freezer compartment.

Most Common Issue: Not Pre-Cooling The Cooler

If you notice any signs of condensation on the walls of the cooler, you need to check if the insulation product was pre-cooled properly. This will prevent moisture build up inside the cooler.

Room Temperate Food and Drinks Melt Ice Fast

Cooler Touching The Hot Ground or Surfaces

If you touch something hot, you’ll feel a tingle. This is called thermal sensation. Thermal sensation is caused by the transfer of energy from the body to the surface. The skin is covered with tiny blood vessels that carry blood away from the skin cells. When the skin comes into contact with a hot object, the blood vessels constrict, causing the blood to rush back toward the heart. As the blood returns to the skin, it cools down, making the skin feel cold.

The Cooler Is In Direct Sunlight

Cooler is in direct sunlight. It’s not possible to get cooler if it’s in direct sunlight.

Not Putting In Enough Ice

If you put in enough ice, the cooler will stay cool. Putting Too Much Ice

Smaller Blocks Of Ice or “Warm Ice”

If you put in too much ice, the ice will melt faster and the cooler will not stay cold as long as if you had put in the right amount of ice. If you put in smaller blocks of ice, the ice will take longer to melt and the cooler will stay colder for a longer period of time.

You’re Opening The Lid Too Much

If you open the lid too frequently, the air flow will be reduced and the cooling effect will decrease.
