I find myself always veering toward Accent February 2010
I find myself always veering toward Accent, whenever its my turn to pick a restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is unmatched. Always welcoming, always cosy, great background music and staff that seem to always be smiling, enjoying themselves and made me feel so welcomed. I highly recommend the steak tartare --best i've ever had, with warm bread that you garlic yourself. It's a perfect place to go on any day of the week
They definitely have a Euro feel going on December 2009
Accent Lounge is a cozy restaurant in the middle of a crazy Whyte Ave. It is a good on a Friday. They have good serice, food and drinks.
They definitely have a Euro feel going on. They had a lot of stuff on the menu and everything sounded good, but this made it so hard to choose. We ordered many different dishes and shared. Everything tasted good too. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced and the service was good as well.
If you're looking for somewhere different to check out on Whyte Ave then this is for you.
It's a really cute litte place January 2009
I found this place to be a pleasant surprise! It's a really cute litte place that I've always wanted to try, just off Whyte. I was always intrigued by it's dark woods and alluring atmosphere. It was a lovely evening last night, so we wanted to eat on a patio someplace. It then occurred to me that Accent had outdoor seating.I didn't get to see the inside of the restaurant very much, but from what I saw, it was dim and had a feel to it that I would enjoy. The patio was right on the sidewalk (perfect for people watching) and there were only about 8 small tables roped in. I learned that the fare is supposed to be European-themed. This did seem to translate into the menu somewhat. We started with dirty martinis, as they were on special. Not quite dirty enough, but the extra olives helped. Truthfully, almost everything on the menu sounded amazing. And there was such a selection that I even missed a page at first. The appetizers were extensive, and each one sounded great. We went with the smoked salmon with capers and rye bread, and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. (The magic word! ) It also came with a creamy dill sauce. This was quite good. Very light and fresh. Perfect for a spring evening.It was a tough decision, but for my main course, I chose the Portobello Mushroom Cap. I made an excellent choice! The portobello was emersed in a parmesean garlic sauce, and within the sauce were also button mushrooms and shrimp. Incredible! The side of angel hair with marinara was also the most perfect side that I could have hoped for. And the garlic ciabatta bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce.I was thoroughly impressed with this dish!Another thing that I noticed, was that although the menu was so impressive, the prices were quite reasonable. Most places would be charging double the cost for the exact same thing. I recommend that everyone checks this place out!
